Here are some great resources by thepoachedegg.net that you may want to consider. Three of those listed I have read and would give a big thumbs up to those that want to dive into apologetics. Tactics: by Greg Koukl Holman Quick Source Guide to Christian Apologetics: by Doug Powell Cold-Case Christianity: by J. Warner Wallace All the others are on my wish list.   Share this:FacebookTwitterGooglePinterestTumblrLinkedInRedditEmailPrintLike this:Like...

Youtube video worth watching

I was going to title this post the Kalam Cosmological Argument, but realized quite a few would be turned off by that, and not even bother to watch it. It is only about 4 minutes long, it quickly and simply goes over the reasons and reasoning behind the first cause, or the Kalam Cosmological Argument. This new video by William Lane Craig and company is a huge step in the right direction to attract those that don’t want to sit and watch two-hour debates on the existence of God, or read dusty books on philosophy and cosmology. It places the reasoning within the grasp of everyone. I for...

Comparing several religions

The school year is over! The last few weeks, in particular the last couple weeks, have been a busy time with me. We had an awards ceremony toward the end of the year, (grades had to be completed for that), had to cram in the Constitution Test for my 8th graders, then a few more final assignments for the final report card. Then, last but not least, the 8th grade graduation for our school. Working for a Charter School is quite the different animal than working for a public school. As with any job, you will have some advantages and disadvantages. I had been working on some other posts when I...

When I saw this...

Resources (books)

I have had a couple people ask me what books I have read in the past year, so I thought I would list them here. It might be useful to anyone who enjoys research, or just reading, to share my book list from the last 18 months or so. Of course this does not include my books for fun, but those are not the focus of this site/blog. And actually, I have had such a burning desire to study the issues in apologetics these books listed below were all fun to read and constitute about 80% of what I have read in the past 18 months. I know, it’s weird reading books on apologetics for fun. What is...

Can you answer tough questions?

My wife and I attended the Thrive apologetics Conference in Sacramento this weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. The topics included, but were not limited to: Staying Christian in College. Why God Allows Evil Intelligent Design 101 Can the Bible be Trusted Inside the Mind of a Former Atheist Crusades, Slavery, and the Oppression of Women Islam Explained:Understanding the Basics of Muslim Faith The night before the conference, my wife and I also attended an apologetic meeting near the conference. The Reasons To Believe Sacramento group meets every month; they are supported by and associated...
